About the event

Anara Frank is a Boston native, but has spent almost as much time in Cuba—visiting since she was a child, and receiving much of her dance education there. Since the 1990’s, she has trained numerous dancers in the Casino style, as well as taught it’s history and explained the similarities and differences with other Latin Dance styles. Anara's training & certifications include many styles of Latin Dance, Contemporary Dance & Acro/Gymnastics, as well as fusion work in these and other genres. Today, she is recognized as a pioneer in the Boston Latin Dance community. Anara has also played a key role in cultural exchanges between US and Cuban dancers & musicians in both countries, having led or consulted on more than 50 programs, with the goal of celebrating the cultures and building friendship and understanding.

Ana 'Masacote' Tinajero is an award-winning Afro-Latin dance artist and performing arts curator who loves engineering spaces for community connection and conversation through the arts. She has spread the salsa bug to more than 30 countries and is the founder of Dance to Power, an online Afro-Latin dance academy.
